DESCRIPTION:\n\n	Saturday, January 31st \n5:00 -8:30 pm Homestead Hollow area\nKettle Moraine State Forest Lapham Peak Unit\nW329 N846 County Highway C, Delafield\nA valid WI State Park annual vehicle admission sticker or a $10.00 Special Event vehicle admission fee is required per car.\nIn addition to the vehicle admission, you must register that you will be attending, this is free, but you must bring a copy of your registration email (or a copy on your phone) to show at the main entrance gate to participate.  You may arrive at any time from 5 pm – 8:30 pm\nRegister HERE (click)\nAfter skiing/hiking/snowshoeing…\n\nWarm yourself by the bonfire\nBring your own food and grill outside\nEnjoy treats at Trecker Lodge; donations appreciated\n\nSponsored by WI DNR and Friends of Lapham Peak.\n						\n	Candlelight FAQ\n\nAre dogs allowed?\n\nYes.  If you choose to bring a pet, it MUST be on a leash AT ALL TIMES.  Leash can be no longer than 8′.\n\n\nWhat is the trail length?\n\nApproximately 1.8 miles but there are 2 places where you can “cut-through” to shorten your distance if desired.\n\n\nAre there refreshments?\n\nYes, at Trecker Lodge we are planning Hot Beverages and more; donations appreciated\n\n\nIs there a fire bonfire/grill?\n\nYes, both\n\n\nAre vouchers needed this year?\n\nNo, but you must register that you will be attending, and you must being a copy of the registration confirmation email with you to show at the main entrance gate\n\n\nIs the registration per person or by vehicle?\n\nPer vehicle\n\n\nIs there a cost to register?\n\nNo\n\n\nHow can I volunteer at the event?\n\nContact Rita Keber ( mailto:rkeber@milwpc.com ) at 262-547-4827\n\n\nCan you park outside the park?\n\nAny parking outside the park will result in parking tickets and possible towing at owner’s expense.\n\n\nIs there an admission cost?\n\n$10 to park your car for the evening (special event rate) or have a valid State Park Sticker\n\n\nCan I pull my child in a sled\n\nYes, as long as the trail is snow-covered (call close to the event for information)\n\n\nIs this is a kid friendly event?\n\nYes, but if it’s really cold outside, use your own judgement\n\n\nIs this hike wheelchair/stroller accessible?\n\nYes, Depends upon conditions that day.  If it is actively snowing, it would be difficult to keep the paved path plowed to a clear state throughout the event.  BUT, staff work extremely hard to make sure the paved surface is clear and salted/sanded if conditions are such that it could be viewed as hazardous (you may call closer to check conditions)\n\n\nCan we ski the candlelight hike?\n\nIf there is enough snow, yes\n\n\nIf we can ski the hike (on the candle lit trail), will I need a trail pass for the event?\n\nNo, not on the candle lit trail.  If you ski on the man-made snow (where we will not have candles) then a trail pass is needed as usual\n\n\nCan we snowshoe the hike?\n\nIf there is snow, yes, you’re choice to wear snowshoes or boots or skis (on the candlelit trail);  do not snowshoe on the manmade ski trails!\n\n\nIf we can ski or snowshoe, will there be rentals available?\n\nSee Rentals.  On-site rentals are at the Nordic Specialist building by the Evergreen Parking Lot (in the same parking lot as the Lapham Lodge); rentals close at 8 pm; their phone number is: 262-261-3800 ( tel:12622613800 )\n\n\n\n \n				\n				\n				\n						Click for Flier\n\n
