January 2024, Generac Power Systems of Waukesha Wisconsin, provided the Friends of Lapham Peak with a grant from the proceeds of their e-cycling efforts. Kelly S, Community Programs Manager contacted John Hillmer, president of the FLP and they arranged a time when leaders from Generac could present a check to the Friends on January 30th.
The e-cycling program is an effort to reclaim used components from equipment no longer in service, and when those components are sold off the proceeds are then donated by Generac through their program! The Friends of Lapham Peak are grateful to be beneficiaries of this grant, and are happy to know that recycling of technology components is going to good use, and not into landfills.
This past year, 2023, Generac employees were at Lapham Peak volunteering at our Butterfly Garden! As John received the grant on behalf of the Friends, he invited the Generac team back to the Park to work again, perhaps next time on Habitat Restoration.
