Billy B’s The Singing Tree and Geology Rocks – May 10

Wisconsin native, Billy B., comes home for the final environmental education show to end a successful 47 year career. 

The Hausmann Nature Center at Lapham Peak will be presenting Billy B and his Singing Tree show with additional songs from "Geology Rocks." This family friendly hour long event will be held on May 10 at 2 pm. Tickets are $15, discounted rate of $100 for groups of 8-10 children with max of 2 FREE adult chaperones. A state park sticker is required. Advance registration is required.

Since 1978 Billy B. has performed for more than 2 million children, and two Presidents, in 46 of the United States and Canada. Teaching children, through song and dance, a large spectrum of environmental topics, from arthropods and alligators, to complex scientific phenomena such as photosynthesis, pollination, the grinding of the earth’s tectonic plates, and erosion. He has performed for and been commissioned by The National Geographic Society, The World Wildlife Federation, Project Learning Tree, The Cleveland Museum of Natural History, Wolf Trap, The Kennedy Center, the Main Stage at Central Park and many others. He has released 9 albums of original music, 5 of which were commissions.

On May 10th Billy will perform his Singing Tree show at Hausmann Nature Center and he will add some songs from his “Geology Rocks” show (commissioned and vetted by The Cleveland Museum of Natural History).

Billy started his career in Milwaukee while studying at UWM. He was inspired by a class titled “Dance in Childhood Education” taught by Professor Mary Hibbard of Pewaukee Lake. The show at Hausmann will be the last show of his final road tour. Coming full circle to where he started, the Milwaukee area.
