Horseback riding is only permitted on the multi-use Prairie Path Trail (4.5 miles), on the west side of County Highway C. There are no overnight equestrian camps at Lapham Peak. A state trail pass is required for horseback riders 16 years of age and older.
To access the trailhead, park in the Evergreen Grove parking lot, safely cross Hwy C and follow the paved trail (black dashed line on the map) and continue on until you see the Prairie Path (red looped trail on the map) trailhead entrance on the right. Horseback riders travel clockwise, to the left at the trailhead while bicyclists travel the opposite directions. Follow the signs displaying a horse.
