This Firewood is harvested and split, and then aged (dried) for a year or more, by Lapham Peak volunteers
Each “cubby hole” (bin) in the racks is a “generous bundle”
Suggested donation is $7 per bundle but any amount will be greatly appreciated
100% of your donations will help fund the routine burning of Lapham Peak Prairies & Woodlands to promote new growth while reducing invasive species and minimizing the need for herbicides
Wood racks are located at: Evergreen, Homestead Hollow, the Mike Fort Shelter, the Backpack Campsite on the Ice Age Trail, and inside the Trecker lodge. If you want to load a car or truck, there is a rack next to the Evergreen building that will make that easy to do. For larger quantities, contact John: JHillmer@gmail.com 414-333-6337
Donate Online (we accept charge & debit cards). Our "card" processing is provided by SQUARE (this is the same system we use to take payments and donations in the front office).
If you prefer to donate cash or a check, you may use the envelopes provided at the following locations:
- Ice Age Trail Backpack Campside
- Evergreen (2 racks)
- Inside and outside of Trecker
- and at the Mike Fort shelter
Each location has a locked box for the envelopes. Alternatively, you may drop off your donation at the office.
If you'd rather mail a check, mark the memo "Firewood":
