Best State Park System Property for a Sunrise Hike

The Friends of Wisconsin State Parks hold an annual contest for various categories, with votes from the public, and the winner of this year for the Best State Park Property for a Sunrise Hike is the Lapham Peak Unit, in Delafield!  Congratulations for the excellent trail system, prairies, butterfly garden, memorial benches and brick way paths, and the flora and fauna that contribute to the atmosphere here for hiking!

2021 VIRTUAL BIRKEBEINER SKI RACE The Wisconsin State Park System is excited to partner with the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation for the 2021 Birkebeiner (Birkie) Ski Race. This year, the Birkie will be held virtually. Join in the fun by completing the race anywhere between Feb. 20 to 28. Learn more about how to participate virtually here. Lapham Peak is proud to be one of the virtual sites for this year’s Birkie!

2021 Virtual Lapham Loppet (1/23 – 2/13)

Thanks to everyone who skied the Virtual Lapham Loppet as we could not have the race as usual due to covid-19.  The money raised has been donated to snowmaking. Your help to continue the snowmaking project is greatly appreciated!

January 2021, Record Attendance!

Over 84,000 visitors came to Lapham Peak in January!  We believe this is an all time high for one month.  Even with COVID19 restrictions, its been an incredible month for the park, especially with the skiing conditions we’ve been able to provide. Skiing at Lapham Peak, Dec 17

Beginning the week of Dec 13th, volunteer snowmakers began making snow for cross country skiing at Lapham Peak.  Our new Pisten Bully 100 (PB100) snow cat is working great to spread the man-made snow.  We’ll groom Wednesday night. For updates on our trail conditions, see our Trails Condition page

No Parking

December 2, 2020

Visitors to Lapham Peak are reminded that Parking is not allowed on the shoulders of Highway C in front of the Park.  This creates dangerous situations for people crossing the road on the cross-walks, as well as dangerous situations for those parking illegally.  The Town of Delafield has added No Parking signs along the Highway by our entrance.  The Waukesha County Sheriff Department is patrolling this road to help keep pedestrians safe.
