Thanks to Freddy Hertneky and his Eagle Scout project, and our “Buckthorn Busters” we now have a new firepit and firewood rack at Homestead Hollow’s Trecker Lodge. The Buckthorn Busters also just added a firepit and firewood rack at the Mike Fort Shelter. “Feel the Burn” is the major fundraiser for Lapham Peak State Park’s prairie management. “Feel the Burn” is limited to 175 participants; therefore, registering early is encouraged. The Friends of Lapham Peak have been raising funds and developing plans for the new Lapham Lodge, to be located at the Evergreen Trailhead in the Lapham Peak Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest.
